Mahfud's Nonchalant Attitude in Face of Gibran's Vice Presidential Debate Twist
- Tvonenews
Siap –In an upcoming vice-presidential debate, Gibran, the running mate for presidential candidate number 2, is rumored to unveil a surprising element.
However, candidate number 3, Mahfud MD, brushed off the speculation with a relaxed demeanor.
"Debates are just routine. I don't prepare specific material since the questions are drawn by lot. If I prepare, and the draw is different, what's the point? So, I just show up," Mahfud remarked during an encounter at a pesantren in Sirnamiskin, Bandung, on Saturday 16 December 2013
Mahfud emphasized that debates should rely on existing knowledge rather than meticulously crafting and presenting materials to the public.
"Debates are based on existing knowledge, not staged preparations like a play," he stated.
Following his campaign in several locations in Bandung last week, Mahfud resumed campaigning in the city on Saturday (16/12/2023).
This time, he commenced his campaign agenda by visiting a pesantren in Sirnamiskin.
There, Mahfud discussed the significance of pesantrens as nurseries for future leaders who will carry on Indonesia's legacy.
Subsequently, Mahfud continued his campaign agenda by meeting with PPP cadres, who are members of the endorsing party, while having lunch at Dapoer Pandan Wangi.
Later, he attended the National Halaqah across Bandung Raya at Ponpes Mambaul Falah in West Bandung before concluding the day at the Gus Dur Memorial event in Ciganjur.
